THE OUTER BRIDGE ENSEMBLE
"The Outer Bridge Ensemble is Mark DeJong on tenor, Steve Hudson on keys, Pascal Niggenkemper on bass, Dave Freeman on conga/percussion, and Jerome Jennings on drums. The OBE is a group of electrifying improvisers whose groove-oriented original music draws upon jazz, funk, and world folk music traditions. The ensemble has toured to Europe and throughout Canada, where their interaction on stage and exploration of changing rhythmic meters has had audiences dancing in their seats! Members of the ensemble have performed with Sonny Rollins, Hank Jones, Billy Martin (Medeski, Martin, and Wood), Steven Bernstein, and others.
