COLUMBIA JAZZ BAND
The Columbia Jazz Band is a non-profit community jazz ensemble made up of members who are dedicated to improving their understanding, technique and enjoyment of performing in the jazz idiom. Rehearsing once a week, the members of the Columbia Jazz Band come from a variety of professions and aspire to the highest levels of artistic excellence. The CJB performs formal concerts, dances, dedications, and receptions in Howard, Baltimore, Anne Arundel, and Prince George’s counties and Baltimore City. The Columbia Jazz Band performed at the Montreux International Jazz Festival, 2008. Following the performances in Montreux, the band toured performed concerts in Croatia, Slovenia, and Vienna, Austria. In addition, the band has recorded a CD, Live and Swinging. The band is directed by Pete BarenBregge.
